A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Ricetto di Candelo (in Candelo), Castello di Issogne (in Issogne) and Cervino Breuil-Cervinia Ski Area (in Breuil-Cervinia). Spend the 15th (Fri) exploring nature at Parco Regionale del Mont Avic. There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, take in nature's colorful creations at Parco del Valentino, make a trip to Piazza Castello, and take some stellar pictures from Basilica of Superga.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In December, plan for daily highs up to °C, and evening lows to °C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 20th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
