City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Orta San Giulio (Spiaggia Miami, San Giulio Island, &more), Aosta (Parco Regionale del Mont Avic & Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso) and Castagnole Monferrato (Ferraris Agricola & Cantina Sociale di Castagnole Monferrato). There's lots more to do: explore the world behind art at Museo Egizio, examine the collection at Civic Museum of Ancient Art (Palazzo Madama), see where the action happens at Juventus Stadium, and take in nature's colorful creations at Parco del Valentino.

To find photos, traveler tips, other places to visit, and other tourist information, you can read our Turin day trip planner.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 17°C in October, and nighttime lows around 12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
