City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Take a break from the city and head to Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso and River Rafting & Tubing. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Sacro Monte di Orta and Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Museo Forte Bramafam (in Bardonecchia), Forte Di Exilles (in Exilles) and Giardini del Belvedere (in Mondovi). There's still lots to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Abbazia di Santa Maria di Staffarda, admire the striking features of Aosta Old Town, take a memorable drive along Colline di Torino, and explore the fascinating underground world of Cave Bossea.

For reviews, other places to visit, traveler tips, and more tourist information, refer to the Turin trip planning site.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In August, plan for daily highs up to 76°F, and evening lows to 64°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
