City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Take a break from the city and head to Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso and Colline di Torino. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Sacro Monte di Orta and Castello di Issogne. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Giardini del Belvedere (in Mondovi), Forte Di Exilles (in Exilles) and Museo Forte Bramafam (in Bardonecchia). There's lots more to do: admire the striking features of Aosta Old Town, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie, explore the historical opulence of Castello della Manta, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso.

For reviews, other places to visit, maps, and other tourist information, refer to the Turin sightseeing planning tool.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. August in Turin sees daily highs of 76°F and lows of 64°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
