Turin

— 13 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
For shopping fun, head to Via Roma or FOL Gourmet Popcorn. Visiting Colle del Nivolet and Sentieri della Valnontey will get you outdoors. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: La Thuile (Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo & Cascate del Rutor), Langhe landscapes UNESCO (in Alba) and Rifugio Vittorio Sella (in Cogne). Spend the 25th (Wed) exploring nature at Parco Regionale del Mont Avic. There's still lots to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice, explore the historical opulence of Castello di Issogne, don't miss a visit to Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini, and take an in-depth tour of Museo Egizio.

To see other places to visit, more things to do, ratings, and other tourist information, read Turin trip maker website.

If you are flying in from South Africa, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In September, plan for daily highs up to 24°C, and evening lows to 17°C. You will have some time to spend on the 2nd (Wed) before leaving for home.
