City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
For shopping fun, head to Via Roma or FOL Gourmet Popcorn. Visiting Colle del Nivolet and Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo will get you outdoors. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Cogne (Rifugio Vittorio Sella & Sentieri della Valnontey), Cantine Costa Giuseppe (in Monta) and Langhe landscapes UNESCO (in Alba). Spend the 25th (Wed) exploring nature at Parco Regionale del Mont Avic. There's much more to do: admire all the interesting features of Colline di Torino, explore the historical opulence of Castello di Issogne, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini, and relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour.

For ratings, other places to visit, reviews, and more tourist information, go to the Turin trip planner.

If you are flying in from South Africa, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 24°C in September, and nighttime lows around 17°C. You'll have a few hours on the 2nd (Wed) to wrap things up before traveling home.
