City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
For shopping fun, head to Via Roma or FOL Gourmet Popcorn. Visiting Colle del Nivolet and Sentieri della Valnontey will get you outdoors. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Rifugio Vittorio Sella (in Cogne), Langhe landscapes UNESCO (in Alba) and La Thuile (Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo & Cascate del Rutor). Spend the 25th (Wed) exploring nature at Parco Regionale del Mont Avic. The adventure continues: head outdoors with Colline di Torino, see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, take a stroll through Quadrilatero Romano, and step into the grandiose world of Castello di Issogne.

For more things to do, maps, other places to visit, and other tourist information, refer to the Turin trip planner.

If you are flying in from South Africa, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 24°C in September, and nighttime lows around 17°C. On the 2nd (Wed), you'll have the morning to explore before heading back home.
