Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Colosseum and Palatine Hill. There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Vatican Museums, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Louis of the French, take in panoramic vistas at Torre San Giovani, and explore the different monuments and memorials at Catacombe di San Callisto.

Known for its impressive hillside cascade of colorful stone buildings down to the Mediterranean shore, Amalfi is the cultural and commercial heart of southern Italy's Amalfi Coast.
On the 22nd (Fri), hike along Sentiero dei Limoni, steep yourself in history at Duomo di Ravello, admire the striking features of Villa Rufolo, view the masterpieces at Ceramiche Cosmolena di Margherita di Palma, then appreciate the views at Valle dei Mulini, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Duomo di Sant'Andrea.

Visiting Canal Grande and Like a Venetian will get you outdoors. Do some cultural sightseeing at Doge's Palace and Peggy Guggenheim Collection. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Venice: Padua (Scrovegni Chapel & Basilica di Sant’Antonio).
