City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Attractions like Porta Pretoria and River Rafting & Tubing make great kid-friendly stops. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso and Colline di Torino. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Castello Reale di Sarre (in Sarre), Fontanafredda (in Serralunga d'Alba) and Museo Forte Bramafam (in Bardonecchia). The adventure continues: contemplate the waterfront views at Lago Blu, step into the grandiose world of Castello di Verres, see the interesting displays at Museum of the Holy Shroud (Museo della Sindone), and tour the pleasant surroundings at Rifugio Vittorio Sella.

If you are flying in from Poland, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. August in Turin sees daily highs of 28°C and lows of 20°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
