Rome is known for historic sites, nightlife, museums, classes, and shopping. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: delve into the distant past at Colosseum, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Peter's Basilica, contemplate the long history of Roman Forum, and get to know the fascinating history of Piazza Navona.

St. Petersburg, Russia to Rome is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and bus; or drive. The time zone changes from Moscow Standard Time (MSK) to Central European Time (CET), which is usually a -2 hour difference. When traveling from St. Petersburg in December, plan for much warmer days and a bit warmer nights in Rome: temperatures range from 16°C by day to 4°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Wed) so you can take a train to Salerno.
