Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Parco Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino and Oasi Cervara - Nature Sanctuary. Pomposa Abbey and Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli will appeal to museum buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Venice side-trips: Castello del Catajo (in Battaglia Terme), Padua (MUSME - Museum of the History of Medicine of Padova & Piazza dei Signori) and Santuario Madonna della Salute Monteortone (in Abano Terme). The adventure continues: take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilica of Santa Eufemia, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Santa Maria e San Donato, browse the different shops at T Fondaco Dei Tedeschi, and get to know the fascinating history of Passeggiata lungo la restera.

The famous setting for Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, Verona is one of northern Italy's main tourist destinations, largely owing to its incredibly rich artistic heritage.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Mon): learn about winemaking at Novaia, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Santuario Basilica Madonna della Corona, then take in the exciting artwork at Galleria Museo Depero, then step into the grandiose world of Castel Beseno, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa di San Fermo. Here are some ideas for day two: don't miss a visit to I Portoni della Bra, see the interesting displays at Nicolis Museum, learn about winemaking at Cantina Il Pignetto, then do a tasting at Guerrieri Rizzardi, and finally indulge your taste buds at Cantina Zeni e Museo del Vino.
