Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.
Do your shopping at Las Ramblas and Passeig de Gracia. Get some cultural insight at Casa Milà and Park Güell. In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Tue): admire the landmark architecture of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, then pause for some serene contemplation at Duomo di Milano, and then get to know the fascinating history of Piazza del Duomo. On the 5th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: tour the pleasant surroundings at Villa del Balbianello, choose your vessel at Turati Centro Nautico Lario, and then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Como Cathedral.
