In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Teatro Alla Scala. Venture out of the city with trips to La Citta Alta (in Bergamo) and Museo Egizio (in Turin). There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Duomo di Milano, contemplate the long history of Castello Sforzesco, get to know the fascinating history of Piazza del Duomo, and admire the landmark architecture of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Lucerne, Switzerland to Milan is an approximately 3-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. Prepare for a bit warmer weather when traveling from Lucerne in November: high temperatures in Milan hover around 15°C and lows are around 6°C.
