In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Thu): browse the different shops at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Duomo di Milano, and then browse the exhibits of Castello Sforzesco.

Lahore, Pakistan to Milan is an approximately 12-hour combination of flight and car. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 4 hours traveling from Lahore to Milan. Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Fri): make a trip to Piazza San Marco, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo (San Zanipolo), and then contemplate the waterfront views at Canal Grande. On your second day here, admire the landmark architecture of Doge's Palace, snap pictures at Ponte dei Sospiri, admire the masterpieces at Peggy Guggenheim Collection, then admire the landmark architecture of Basilica di San Marco, and finally snap pictures at Ponte di Rialto.

Traveling by train from Milan to Venice takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of flight and train. In September, plan for daily highs up to 29°C, and evening lows to 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sat) so you can catch the train to Florence.
