A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: La Venaria Reale (in Venaria Reale), Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi (in Stupinigi) and Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino). There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Basilica di Superga, make a trip to Piazza San Carlo, examine the collection at National Cinema Museum, and explore the world behind art at Egyptian Museum of Turin.

For other places to visit, maps, reviews, and more tourist information, go to the Turin holiday planner.

If you are flying in from India, the closest major airports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Cuneo International Airport. In September, daily temperatures in Turin can reach 27°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Thu) to allow time to travel back home.
