  • We went for a trip out door Saturday and Sunday and why not, also to taste the delicacies of Piedmont, wine and food, which this region knows how to treat us. So we thought we'd end up in sweetness. I then informed where was the chocolate factory of Vicoforte and I decided to taste and view this factory... I've been expecting chocolate fountains, melted chocolate castings, cocoa bags, cocoa powder... And instead...... Nothing! The entrance from the bar/pastry is very simple.. Maybe too simple..... Forget the chocolate shops of famous names, but at least a certain presentation of chocolate and chocolates, the scent of chocolate in the area... I was hoping to find him. and to hear it... and taste it! Well.. We inform the owner that immediately confirms that it is not possible to visit the "laboratory" but only the museum and that there would be a tasting of chocolate and hot chocolate, herbal teas, etc... And the visit to the museum! Price 10 euros apiece! I decide to try even if the museums I hardly like... I prefer dynamic things to static ones, especially if not adequately set and motivated. But be it museum.. They send me to a room where I expect a affable lady, the mother I think of the previous owner with whom I spoke, which begins the explanation of the production of cocoa and chocolate.. Letting us see a video on the collection. While we bring three types of chocolate, three chocolates in the shape of a pod size 50 cents to understand us, a cup of coffee with herbal tea and a cold chocolate always in a cup. All while we listen to his tale seated at the table made with the crate collecting cocoa seeds. A half-hour chat.... End! Well I think now we will be around the museum... No end... Finish them! It ends at the limit with a sniff of cocoa seeds of various nations, in plastic cylinders who knows how long ago put there! But how are there not even tools? I do not know a story about the original production of cocoa, understand how it was done and what utensils used before the advent of electric mills, in short, everything here? And the museum??? 10 Euros for a story that on the internet I find when I want and a tasting of two cents of chocolate pieces and "half" (Repeat HALF!) Gianduiotto? Well... I got a nice rip-off... I buy two cocoa beans at 8/9 euros a bag, and a chocolate bar, I pay and I go away sad.... And thank goodness that chocolate is an antidepressant! Disappointing! Ps: If you eat them the video in practice is free.... But given the premise... I did not want to spoil the beautiful tour made the day before in the Langhe, cellars of Barolo and succulent lunch and dinner in the evening...! More than Piedmontese this chocolatieri I seemed ligurian.... hahaha (a few words good connoisseur)!!
