  • Indeed, we expected to admire beautiful costumes but nothing, there is only a small room with men's vests, certainly very beautiful, but that's it. The interest of this place is mainly to see the space in which a family lived. Very disappointing too. When we visited, most of the paintings had disappeared from the walls to replace them with works of a lady whose name we will forget. This Mania now to put contemporary works in a context that is not adapted. Really a pity.

  • Small but informative museum. Situated in the "piano nobile", you can explore the different rooms and salons with lots of the original furniture and paintings. The history comes alive with puppets wearing historical costumes. In every room you find informations in Italian, French and English, as well as benches or chairs in many of the rooms, so that you can rest and enjoy the athmosphere. Large collection of vests with all kinds of embroidery. Very interesting was the part about the history of perfume with a very informative short film (also in English) and lots of samples to smell and compare. We went one hour before closing and had plenty of time, only the museum shop was already closed. Strong recomendation for kids, even our teenagers loved it! Very short walk from Vaporetto San Stae.
  • We really enjoyed seeing the history of parfum making. Staff was very friendly in directing us around. It is not a big museum but if you have the museum pass it is worth to visit. There are not so many costumes on display but there was a nice room with overcoats. The films explaining the parfum history were very informative.
