  • Unfortunately I couldn't see much of the museum, only a few rooms with fossils and exhibits and and those on the African expedition, but it was still worth it; It is a very well cared for and certainly very interesting museum, most of which is housed in an old patrician mansion with its own particular history. Of the Pyrma half of the THIRTEENTH century, owned by several noble families, in 1621 the Repubblia Veneta Ceette to Turkish merchants who destined it to dwellings and to the trades with different warehouses-hence the name of "Fontego of the Turks" when the commune, shortly after half of 800 became its owner, died a radical reconstruction returning it to the original sixteenth-century appearance. Its beautiful arched façade with the two side towers make it one of the most characteristic among the palaces that overlook the grand Canal. A decoration tile with a bird catching a fish has been revived at the museum as its Logo.

  • Luckily I read Trip Advisor before going as I knew to ask for the English audio guide at reception, it is not offered to you even though its obvious you speak English. Without the guide you will see s...  more »

  • Lovely museum sharing natural history across a large time span. Prices of 8 euros are very reasonable for adults for what you get. The museum had a number of exhibits which keep you going for your money. Gift shop is rather expensive so perhaps prep the kids before hand
  • Well laid out and has up to date tech to show off its exhibits. Only a few negatives, once you're inside all the signs to tell you what you're looking at are in Italian. Also when we went there was a floor being renovated but that was just bad timing. It's €8 to get in for adults.
