  • From the vast Campo SAN POLO, the apse of the SAN POLO church is discovered because, the building being "inserted" into dwellings, its façade is hidden. The interior, with 3 naves bounded by 12 imposing Ionic columns, contains beautiful works. The 1st altar of the right nave is surmounted by tintORET's altarpiece "The Assumption of the Virgin and Saints." The 2nd altar is decorated with a beautiful statue "Madonna to the Child" by Pietro ZANDOMENEGHI (of which 2 other statues appear in the Chiesa dei Frari). In the choir, the high altar is dominated by the canvas "Conversion of Saint Paul" by PALMA THE JEUNE. The left absidian chapel houses Paolo VERONESE's magnificent altarpiece "The Marriage of the Virgin." On the opposite façade, to the left of Gaetano CALLIDO's organ, adorned with 2 painted and gilded wooden statues, appears a very beautiful "Supper" of TINTORET. Beyond the counterfaçade, one reaches the Crucifix Oratory which contains the admirable Via Crucis (14 paintings corresponding to the 14 stations of the Way of the Cross of Christ), work of Giandomenico TIEPOLO.

  • It is a church that dates back to its beginnings in the ninth century and has subsequently had different reforms, concluding these in the neoclassical style. The collection of the interior of the temple is worth contemplating. We can see paintings by Jacopo Tintoretto and Paolo Veronese among other painters. Duration of the Visit: 30 minutes. Photographs: No. Entry: Yes

  • Spectacular artworks in this beautiful church.
  • It is not one of the leading arts-focused church, although almost every Venetian church is worth a medium-sized museum. Here Tiepolo (Giambattista and, above all, Giandomenico at the first rehearsals), an inevitable "Last Supper" by Tintoretto and Porta Salviati. The field on which it overlooks is one of the most beautiful and large in the city. Admission 3 euros (recommended the Chorus subscription: 12 euros for a dozen of the most important churches).
