  • CA ' Farsetti and Ca ' Loredan are two similar buildings, overlooking the Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge, are home to the headquarters and offices of the municipality. Stylistically very similar almost a Venetian Byzantine continuum, made with details typical of the fondaco House as you can see by looking at the ground floor arcade of palaces from neighbor Riva del vin. The Salon on the ground floor there is a functional environment with access through a triumphal arch supported by two Doric pilasters, flanked by two statues of Mars and Minerva and above a shield with the lion of San Marco in moleca. Largely rebuilt from the original layout during re-adaptation of the nineteenth century after the purchase by the Venice City Hall, first floor loggia develops as a continuum, with a series of arches supported by coupled columns. CA ' Farsetti is undoubtedly one of the oldest Venetian buildings since the 12th or 13th century and the tradition wanted it locate the magnificent and vast residence of doge Enrico Dandolo, leader of the Fourth Crusade and conqueror of Constantinople, whose spoliation came to Venice and it is said to adorn this mansion called "Magna Domus", the most valuable Greek marbles. While some membership of the House the Dandolo family, there is no documentary evidence of the presence of the famous Henry and since 1340 about lived there for most of his life another doge Andrea family. Only toward the end of the seventeenth century was bought by Farsetti, nobles of Tuscan origin, which is connoted to great wealth and kept it until the end of the eighteenth century, when passed in properties with Adriana Da Ponte became hotel "of Great Britain", then be sold in 1826 to the municipality of Venice, which established its headquarters.

  • 3 Stello only because it is Venice, history the monuments, but the situation is always the usual, Italy lives of the beautiful splendour of the past, living and take advantage of tourism... A city that in a foreign hand would be a JEWEL! In the Hand Anoi unfortunately is in the Sfacelo, dirty, decadent, you save the most famous monuments, also ' they with the need for restoration. Everything is studied pee plucking the tourist... Let's not talk about the €7.50 for a ride on public transport, the baths to €1.50 euros per person, parking lot, and who has more more... Absurd! A real pity, a real sadness...
