Reggia di Venaria Reale
Explore Reggia di Venaria Reale, a 17th-century palace built for Charles Emmanuel II as a base for his hunting expeditions. History had taken its toll here; the structure only opened to the public in 2007 after one of the European Union's largest cultural restoration projects. Wander through the palace's permanent exhibit, Theater of History and Magnificence, which takes you through some of the most impressive rooms. Begin in the 17th-century Hall of Diana, continue through to the Great Gallery, and then move on to the Church of St. Hubert. The accompanying soundtrack by Brian Eno and the multimedia installations on court life make this an informative and atmospheric walk. Stretch your legs in the palace's 50 hectares (123.5 acres) of gardens. You'll find cafes, restaurants and a bookshop on site. Lovely place to visit and it was interesting too - we visited during the winter season and it was nice to walk around.Oh Wow. We did a walking tour of the palace and a little bit of the gardens and just amazing. We took the trip out to the Palace and it was worth it if you have more than a few days in Turin. If you are only in Turin for a couple days it may not be worth the time

After a week enjoying the many delights of Turin and the surrounding area we were lucky enough to spend the last full day of our holidays at Venaria as this was an amazing way to say arrivederci to Piemonte! We took the regular number 11 bus from outside our hotel for 1.50e each and were at the palace well within the hour. There are various ticket options but we chose the palace and gardens ticket which cost us 16e each. The tour of the palace is very well laid out. As usual, we opted not to take the guided or audio tour and just walk round at our own pace and this worked well as there was lots of information available and the palace is very easy to navigate.
