  • We visited the botanical garden one day around August when the entrance was paid only 1st. Given the season and the great heat, there were not many flowering plants, however the signs are quite explanatory and you can appreciate well what you see. The interior of the greenhouses is obviously even warmer and wetter than the outside, the space is very narrow and you have to move carefully so as not to touch the thorns of succulents. The carnivorous plants, however, should be protected with a retina, we saw a small group of visitors who enjoyed touching them to close the leaves in a vacuum. During the tour we also saw some small animals: a goose, a turtle, a rabbit and a squirrel, as well as some fish present in the ponds. Strangely, however, we did not see a single fruit, either on the trees or on the ground, despite it being full of summer. Maybe the workers take them off to avoid getting dirty?

  • The Hortus botanist of the university is a real "study-garden", with pieces where experiments are being experimented with plants and with a few greenhouses where people are clearly also involved in the work. At the entrance was a nice young man selling tickets for €5 per person and he even felt sad for us that we did not have any of the discount passes listed by him. Well, for those five euri we had a very nice visit to the garden! You can walk across the grass between the different beds, that feels fine right away. There are also hiking trails around for those who like it. You may be in the succulents-greenhouse and in the greenhouse for South African plants. The various plants have plates, not always very systematically and conveniently placed, but that only contributes to the charm of this garden. Rather give us a cozy garden where you can walk undisturbed and get anywhere than a state with signs and ropes as if you were walking through a museum. You were allowed to take part in a free tour, but we did not do that, because in Italian it seemed difficult to follow us, but the enthusiastic young lady also spoke in Piemontees dialect and that was too difficult, so we chose our own path. Although August is not the best month for a garden visit, because the plants in the summer heat have something different to do than for us to make beautiful flowers, we have looked around for an hour and a half, the fragrant herbs touched to be able Smelling, admiring the trees, reading the plates with interesting facts and trivia about certain trees and plants, and wished that in the Netherlands we had that very high heat in which oleanders could be so beautifully large... Although the friendly boy at the entrance told us that the winters in Turin for the Oleander are also not fine, and not for nothing they are mainly in movable pots. Highly recommended, this friendly, accessible, surprising garden!

  • Very nice and well organized. I took advantage of the input to 1 euro in mid-August.
