Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone hold much religious significance. The cathedral where the shroud rests dates back to the late 15th century. The shroud is scheduled to go on display in 2015. Approximately 4.5 m long by 1 m high (14.5 ft by 3.7 ft), the shroud contains a faint impression of a man who suffered crucifixion. It remains one of the most studied and controversial objects in human history, as many believe the image to be of Jesus Christ. Consider climbing the cathedral's bell tower on the combined ticket when visiting the Diocesan Museum. • The shroud of Turin is stored in this cathedral and u can see the storage encasement. The should is not normally. available for public display due to its delicate state, so don’t expect to see it.

  • Easy to access and well organized old church, They display a copy of the famous shroud. Very nice paintings on left and right halls all framed in detailed sculptures.

  • Yes it is only a replica and yes I accept the scholarly consensus that the shroud probably dates 1000 years after the event. However I am no more fazed by that than by the 2 Grottos of the Annunciation in Nazareth or the 3 shepherd s' fields in Bethlehem. To visit all these places is to focus one' s mind on key events in the Christian revelation. Look at the mixture of suffering and peace on the expression.
  • This place is of course famous for housing the shroud of Turin though rather than just focus on that you should spend time examining the beautiful architecture of the test of the building. For the shroud you are better off costing the museum down the road
