Immerse yourself in some of Italy's most significant works of art at Museo dell'Opera Metropolitana. The gallery features a collection of works from the Duomo, including the main altarpiece and a piece of stained glass. Climb up 130 stairs to the panorama viewpoint for what is arguably the best view of Siena. Be warned that the stairs to the top are small and winding, so not suitable for all visitors. Also, only 30 are allowed up at a time, so lines may form--don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit. Upon entering this museum you have the option of purchasing a ticket solely for entry here, or a combination ticket which also includes the crypts, baptisery, and panoramic viewpoint. It would be enough to pay more attention to the visitor, for example by putting the nameplates of the works where they are missing, or by redoing those used by time and no longer readable, taking care of the lighting. It is the classic Italian example, art profusion but abandoned to itself.

Nothing particularly relevant that distinguishes it from many other Italian museums of the same type. I wouldn't have included him in the visit in hindsight.
There's absolutely nothing special inside that cannot be found in any other place in Italy, at least among those I've visited. Instead everyone queues for the line to the balcony that is supposed to reward with a magnificent view of the town but I have yet to find out myself since I've been waiting already for like 2 hours , no joking. There's waiting time even between rooms which is ridiculous. Thirsty and sweaty we've been m waiting eternally for a balcony for Gods shake! Let alone the price is to be taken into account. A combined ticket covers access to multiple sights at the piazza del Duomo but this museum is not what it worthy for. I would recommend better the Duomo itself though.
The view from the tower is impressive but it could be a 30 minute wait before you get there.
