The 18th century Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte offers an extensive collection of Neapolitan art set within a grand palace. Before entering, wander through the park surrounding the building. This was once a forested hunting ground for Naples' Bourbon rulers. Inside, marvel at paintings and other pieces dating from the 13th century--perhaps the richest collection of Neapolitan School artworks in the world. Try to book your tour ahead of time, because tickets sell out quickly. Make Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte a part of your Naples vacation plans using our Naples trip website .

  • We visit the Naples exhibition of lava, porcelain and music. A fantastic cultural journey in Naples Bourbon (and not only) with a very good audio guide of historical comments music and cultural references of great level. Absolutely one of the most beautiful exhibitions I have ever seen around the world that alone is worth the cost of the ticket. If we add, the rest of the rooms to visit, the wonderful rooms, the paintings of Caravaggio, the forest with the wonderful well-kept gardens and the view over the gulf and Capri, the day flows away in an instant with a wide cultural breath.

  • A beautiful museum where you can see beautiful works of painting, such as Caravaggio, Rafael. It's a beautiful park.

  • The exhibits during my visits were awesome. I enjoyed the sculptures and contemporary art most. There are thousands of paintings and they were beautiful as well. I found the stitch work the most impressive. They look like rugs... These are ginormous and span an entire wall with high ceilings. Each of them tell a story. But the details are what captured me most.
  • Both the museum and the park were a wonderful surprise. The museum houses a great collection that is very well displayed. It was almost empty of visitors at the end of the day so it felt like we were at a private viewing. The park is beautifully maintained and is a convenient spot to get some respite from the Neapolitan heat. One thing to note is that the café does not accept cards.
