Architectural Building · Hidden Gem · Landmark
Nicknamed "the balcony of Europe," Bruehlsche Terrasse offers superb views of the River Elbe. Take a walk down the terrace to admire the historic buildings and picturesque surroundings. Pause near the Johann Friedrich Böttger monument to look for a fingerprint in the guardrail of the terrace garden. It is said to have been left by August the Strong and to be proof of his strength. Pop into a cafe, sip a coffee, and watch the mix of tourists and locals walk by. • Great views can be seen from here. Sadly with all the construction going on, quite a lot of the beauty is being taken away. But so is life.  more »

  • When I looked at the description of this place in Internet, I liked it: A long path along the river bank on a hill above it with very beautiful views of a part of the city on the other side, to the river itself with ships floating on it, and with various beautiful historical architectural buildings on the other side (on the terrace). There are also several cafeterias and one very good restaurant, where my wife and I had dinner. This place is very beautiful and interesting for walking so I highly recommend visiting it just for walking, and if you plan to invite a girl on a date. I don’t know how it was about sunrise, I wasn’t at this time here, but the evening sunset looks good.
  • So, my expectations was much higher before i went there, cuz i saw a lot of magnificent shots of this place. In reality it's not as good looking like in those pictures. But. It's still a great place to visit. I spent there a half of hour just relaxing and some more time trying to photographe this gorgeous architecture.
